David S. Anderson
David Anderson, Ph.D. has worked as an educator, trainer, facilitator, speaker, researcher and writer. He believes in enhancing individual and group competence, confidence, and commitment, and promotes active engagement in planning for positive and meaningful health-oriented outcomes.
Most recently, he served on the faculty at George Mason University for nearly thirty years. At Mason, he served as Professor and Director of the Center for the Advancement of Public Health and managed over 170 projects at the local, state or national level. Prior to that faculty position, he served as an administrator at The Ohio State University, Radford University and Ohio University. His career spanning over five decades has addressed health promotion and wellness, drug and alcohol misuse prevention, and engaged strategic planning and accountability, with primary attention to youth and young adults. He remains active with research, writing, consulting, and has served in community leadership roles in Celebration, Florida.
As Professor Emeritus of Education and Human Development at George Mason University, he continues his scholarship and practical applications at the national, regional and local levels. His recent publications for community and campus leaders, as well as for individuals, are found with Routledge Publishers and at www.chartingyourcourse.net.
